The scientist testing on her, Aulus mal Asina, was unfortunately a madman. The experiment, prolonged ceruleum poisoning, burned her hair blue and made her exceptionally sensitive to aether, but failed to awaken the ability to control it. She's called it a disfigurement but one she's worn with a strange pride ever since.She became an assassin for the Empire, known by the codename The Nightshade. She sundered her gunblade after the razing of Doma, however. What she could've accomplished with a targeted assassination of Hien was done through mass murder. She believed she took one life to save a hundred, and the Empire soured that faith. But a man, Ewen pyr Gathena, representing a faction of spies predating the Empire recruited Illua to serve her homeland in another way, as a Khamja operative. She worked briefly with the soldiers of STELLA as an attache from the Khamja to observe and report on threats to the Empire, and to the world beyond.When the Civil War began, the Khamja was almost entirely eradicated. Rather than finally embrace freedom, Illua took over the secret agency, acting as a small independent player in the civil war. She has since struggled with the legitimacy and implications of carrying out pyr Gathena's last order: kill every Galvus. After the fall of the Garlean Empire at the hands of Zenos viator Galvus, the last dregs of authority Garlemald had over Illua and the few spies she now commanded were gone. Seeking to draw legitimacy from the first government to sanction the Khamja, Goug.Illua appointed her fiancée Julia as the legitimate heir to the fallen land and initially pinned her legitimacy to that until reincorporating as part of Garlemald's secret services. It has had tacit recognition from the new Senate, putting the Khamja somewhere between an official clandestine service a well-resourced international crime syndicate, depending on what someone might know.

Named for Eir the Great Mercy, patron of physicians, Ritz was born in the mountainside village of Sliabh. She was motivated by the threat of Garlemald and the strife of Golmore's neighbor Dalmasca to carry out the pledge of followers of Eir to protect those in suffering from harm.But as Doma rose up against it's governor, Dalmasca's rebellion was no longer tolerated. Ritz was lucky, in a sense, as she was captured as a prisoner of war before the city was decimated by the Empire. Being unable to return home as a Viera who turned her back on the Wood and having no home to return to in Dalmasca, Ritz had nothing beyond her work as a Garlean conscript.She was primarily used as a healer there, thanks to her medical training that had been employed as a Dalmascan medic. She healed people the medicus staff didn't deem worthy of their efforts, often other conscripts. So that she might treat magical conditions that Garleans were unaccustomed to and Ritz was better equipped to handle thanks to Viera aether sensitivity, she also was afforded texts on Sharlayan and Eorzean medicine. She used research on Nymian medicine to literally boil the blood of her handler and escape into the provinces of Garlemald.She now works at the Bandee Pakshee as Madame and physician. And at the Pakshee she met a Mol of the Xaela named Doyi, who she later married and had a Vieran daughter, Sunna Morningway Mol, with.

Limsa Lominsa's crimes are well-known to the beastmen of Eorzea. None have been so wronged as the Mandragora, who have been completely dispossessed of their Kingdom in Cedarwood on Vylbrand. While other members of the Royal Court of Mandragora have taken to the Isles of Umbra or tending the fields of the conquerors, the Parsnip Duchess has refused this new order. She dedicated herself to overthrowing the oppressors and liberating her homeland.Because she is a healer by nature, however, she's not really grown for terrorism and rebellion. She heals and nurtures. So she decided to heal and nurture violent rebellions!Casting herself as a patron of lost causes, Parsnip ('Snippy' to her comrades) has declared that the seas of Vylbrand will turn red with the blood of the Lominsans. Or, at the very least, she will take all their delicious meats. But really, righteous wholesale slaughter of oppressors is on the agenda. Just have to snack first.

Growing up as an abandoned child in Ishgard's Brume, Rommie found home with the band of street criminals called the Brume Rats. She became a follower of Shiva, a thief and a con artist before she was a teenager. To her, thievery was a noble pursuit - taking precious things from vile people. But it did land her in a lot of trouble. Eventually even the favor of a noble named Blanchimont wasn't enough to shield her from the enemies she made, so Rommie fled south. Her talent as a singer was discovered by similarly street-urchin songstress Savo and the 'rags-to-riches' story of her life began.Unashamed of her work as a courtesan, Rommie used her newfound success to advocate for sex workers, taking over the pillowhouse Bandee Pakshee and pushing the Syndicate of Ul'dah to expand protections for sex workers. She also devoted no small amount of her resources to extracting women from dangerous situations across the world and providing sanctuary at the Pakshee. Far from forgetting her roots, Rommie financially supports Brumers as much as she can.

Unappreciated in the Churning Mists, Mozme's dream of becoming a hero of the Pomguard seemed like it was never going to happen. Sure, she could just drink and eat kupo nuts, but she wanted something more. So, she left the Mists, heading down to the cousins of her kin on the ground below. Who didn't like her any more than the moogles back home.Feeling dejected, Mozme decided to drink and eat kupo nuts. There was a faint awareness that this was absolutely the opposite of what she had intended to do at the outset, but it became something of a routine she fell into. She was not going home defeated and she sure as hell was not joining Mognet, so she laid about Limsa Lominsa, just hoping direction and ambition would wash up from the ocean. It didn't. She's still waiting.

She studied law, she learned the ins and outs of business, and she traveled to attend negotiations. From Atelier Iris to Yuveria Shipping, every business operated by House Blanchimont is managed financially by Audrey's masterful understanding of business. Her brother, Max Slaith III, took her spot managing the mines while she oversees his work as part of the overall Blanchimont Consolidated business empire.While her time in the Blanchimont family has been largely good and fulfilling, her marriage to Felt has been... noticeably less so. Her husband's love is the sea and adventure, and the years since the end of the Dragonsong War have been particularly hard on their relationship as Ishgardian focus on it's imports and exports has only increased.

She decided she could still charge them for it, and the great omniverse-spanning Chocolina brand was born. From Gran Pulse to Grimoire to Norvrandt, Chocolina has sown seeds of business anywhere her exceptional time magic could go.She's been alive for tens of thousands of years and seen more places and times than can be recounted. On Norvrandt she found a kindred spirit, a pixie queen named Feo Ul, and finally found another immortal to share the long journey with who was suitably unbalanced as to keep pace with the time-hopping chocolady. As a result, she's spent more time on this star than most and meddled with it's timeline in occasionally reckless and unwise ways. The paradoxes probably won't kill you.

No one knows from where the first Welch hails. It could've been an unfashionable world across the cosmos, it could be from beyond time and space itself. Some have called her a "4th Dimensional Being," others say she's a "sailor of the great Star Ocean," and still other say she's the most obnoxious person they've ever met and no, they didn't sign up to be her assistant, but here they are anyroad. She's also obsessed with a Go-like game called Eso'wa. For all Welch's percularities, she's exceptionally gifted with creation of things. It seems that her crafting skill may be enhanced with Ancients' creation magic. Or, perhaps, her own command of aether is native to whatever she was before arriving on Etheirys.It's known that the Welch Vineyard working in Ul'dah arrived one day talking of a strange race of comical men from another word, and something called "Pupu" who helped her follow them to Ul'dah. She was not, as it turns out, looking to protect Etheirys from them, nor to police others from beyond the stars like Dragonkind. She was here to sell them junk. And, if the peoples of this Star so wished, she was happy to sell them junk as well. It was, after all, her sworn duty.

When she was far too young to make this kind of decision, Izzy left her home in Radz-at-Han for Eorzea. The Calamity had disrupted the region severely and she decided they would need couriers. And being a courier was a passion of hers. There was just one problem: Mognet. There were already couriers filling the void left by the Calamity. So she had little choice but to join them, and have her formative teenage years shaped by moogles. Now, unsurprisingly, Izzy is a lazy alcoholic.Izzy also became something of an adrenaline junkie, seeking new and greater thrills. The nervous lizard took to training to fight in the Bloodsands in Ul'dah, and though her one bout ended hilariously badly the image of her in tight leathers with a macuahuitl that looked like an oversized paddle created a certain image of her as a dominatrix. She barely understood what courtesany was, but as she explored this comedy of errors she developed a certain adrenaline-junkie interest in the lifestyle of a sex worker.That lifestyle was good to Izzy. She wound up not only making the acquaintance of her idol and legendary fashion designer Thiji Higuri, but being able to style herself as a 'concubine princess' in his service.

Sasaca wants to be a feared pirate, but she's not exactly... well, even close to that. She has a cargo hauler rigged for combat flying the Maelstrom standard. She has a crew that wouldn't have made it a moon in the Bad Old Days. She's more likely to escort a trade ship than attack anything and if she squared off against a Garlean gunboat of fifty years ago she'd still have to run. She couldn't even afford a fitted helmet, getting a second-hand Viera helm and trying to turn that into her pirate moniker instead of the sad statement of a sailor without two gil to rub together.In a lot of ways, Sasaca was born two generations too late for her dreams. Piracy isn't what it used to be, and the privateer gig doesn't pay enough to keep her crew fed let alone living the high life. She's been tempted to return to her first crew on the Yuveria, but continues to cling to her dreams even as they fade. Not that it was ever glamorous, but in the age of airships the sea is a crueler mistress than ever for the not-so-dread pirate Black Rabbit.

Adopted by a brother and sister duo from Ishgard, Iris grew up on her father Felt's cargo ship Yuveria and learning alchemy from her physician mother Visse. Iris became fascinated with aether and focused her studies on the subject from a young age. As time passed and moons fell, though, the emotional scars piled up and pushed her farther and farther out of social life and into her studies as a means of coping.When her grandfather Arstide died, Iris was abruptly thrust back into public life and stumbled hard. It wasn't until her impassioned speeches at the Colloquies of Ishgard that she made any allies in the halls of power at all, and those who approved of her were met in equal number by those who hated the values she represented passionately.She also was not fond of having to balance her work as an inventor and airship hobbyist with her work in Parliament and as a diplomat, but further complicated her life by inventing her anthroparion - an artifically created daughter named Eliza, for the lost fiancee that Carteneau took from her.

It takes a lot for a priestess to commit an unforgivable sin. For Unn and her flock, it took a stark realization. Two neighboring nations fell to the force of northern metal. If Golmore fell, nothing of the Viera would survive. That couldn't be permitted. So, she took the heretical step of leaving the forest with a small flock of followers. She called the venture the Silverwood Expedition, and alongside her wife she broke every sacred law in the name of survival. Men were allowed to join them. They left the Wood forever. They met outsiders. They became outsiders.Looking for a land to host Silfurskógur-bæ, Unn (now Vala) first turned to the Twelveswood. A sacred forest like Golmore. But the more she listened to the Wood, the less she liked what she heard. It wasn't so much the xenophobia of the forest, but what it permitted done in its name by the people of Gridania. She turned her back on these Elementals and instead set out for Ishgard's Chocobo Forest, hoping that her new colony could be at peace with this wild Wood.

One of the most dubious results of Chocolina's time in Etheryis is the paradox of Lehil Laruzedah. When Lehil and her girlfriend Andy were brought accidentally back in time, Lehil's future was erased. She no longer existed in the world she left with Auntie Chocolina. She'd grown up in the shadow of her adoptive mother Rommie Laruzedah and in the present she felt she finally had a chance to live on her own terms. Kashi's life was wonderful back in Radz-at-Han. She got to drink and screw and never do anything. It was brilliant. But her mother died, and when that happened she had a choice: get a job, or move to Eorzea where her dad was working. There wasn't any shortage of construction jobs in the land of post-Calamity Eorzea, and it had kept her father busy and her mother wealthy. Perfect life for a ne'er-do-well rich girl.But her father didn't care for the spoiled antics she could always get away with back in Thavnair. When she spent a million gil getting her own Songbird jacket tailored by Rose himself, her father had enough. He slashed her allowance to only enough for housing and food. For any extravagance like what she was used to, Kashi would have to put in a day's work! And she wasn't about to do that. She instead adopted a pattern of dating people, getting at their money and breaking up with them once she had enough to buy booze for a few moons.

Swords turned to plowshares, and bows to bartenders. Madhvi was a member of the Ala Mhigan Resistance for several long years before leaving the front bound for Thanalan. She could no longer carry the burden of war, but wanted to help her people. The combination of those facts brought her to the Bandee Pakshee, a pillowhouse seeking to embrace the elegance and beauty of Sri Lakshmi. Part of that aim was hiring and helping the handmaids of Lakshmi. Like Madhvi.She became the de facto leader of Bandee Pakshee's half-dozen Ananta employees and one of the chief bartenders for the place of pleasures. She even managed to take on a role of mentor for other Ananta finding their way to the Pakshee. And in recognition of finding a new home, she dropped her old clan identity - she was now of the Pakshee Ananta. She even traded her traditional purple garment for one of golden fabric to denote her new identity.

Torrin wanted adventure. That wasn't horribly uncommon among young Viera. It seemed that more and more people left the forest. And hiding her half-Rava heritage was a burden she wouldn't have to carry outside the Vieran lands. So when a Rava was recruiting from all the clans those willing to be banished to found a colony across the sea, she leapt (no pun intended) at the chance.Weilding Astral magic and a blade, Torrrin became the Silverwood Expedition's resident valkyrie - a kind of combat mortician. She defended the survivors and returned the fallen to Ultima's light. This was the 'something more' she had craved. But new is also alarming. She hadn't understood things like war, not really, until she saw the soldiers returning from Ghimlyt. She didn't understand men until having to be around them regularly. She didn't understand risk or loss.The Wood sheltered her daughters. Seeking a new Wood meant leaving that shelter. And she only understood how scvary that really was when it was too late to do anything about it. So, she decided to remain the strong Valkyrie that Silverwood needed.

That very odd little bird is Ciel. At a young age, Chocolina took Ciel to Valhalla and in that moment the time magic woven through Chocolina's genes activated in her daughter, the spark of Etro was fanned and Ciel gained the ability to leap through time like Chocolina.But Ciel didn't have millions of years of practice. She was a twentysomething with one of the most dangerous powers imaginable. So Chocolina 'grounded' her, leaving her in Eorzea around the time of her birth until she became more responsible.

Sharlayan food was boring. Sharlayan games were boring. Sharlayan sex was boring. Rixia left behind the Sylphs over a strong moral objection to Ramuh. The idea that a force of such terrible power and destruction was revered by her people made her turn her back on the Sylphlands forever. When he was summoned as a response to Garlean invasion, she was certain she made the right choice. Maybe Little Solace agreed with her in principle, but they did nothing to curb Ramuh's distortion of their values and so were as much her enemy as the Touched.What she decided to do was to help relieve the need for summoning altogether by fostering community between all Spoken (yes, beastfolk included). The obvious answer as to how was to cook. All Spoken ate. This meant food was a universal language, and a way for people to understand the cultures and values of others from relative comfort. She became an amazingly talented chef, recognized by Iron Chef Eorzea among others, and worked as the head chef of the Bandee Pakshee as well as serving as a guest chef everywhere from the Kestrel to Saika.

Not much of her story is true. She claims to be Minami no Seriho - Seriho of the Beautiful Waves - from Sui-no-Sato beneath the Ruby Sea. She claims to have come to Eorzea to escape Garlean persecution. She claims to be a helpless victim. She claims to love music and dream of being a beautiful and elegant courtesan. None of that can be verified, and most of it is a lie.Seriho crafts who she is to the situation. She brings certain details to the forefront around certain people, and has chosen things that both make her seem innocent and naive but also are hard if not impossible to prove or disprove. What she wants is to exert her power over others. Sometimes this is simply by making people believe the lie that is Seriho Minami, but sometimes her exertion takes a darker aspect.She has killed to show her dominance before. She has dealt with criminal enterprise ranging from murder-for-hire to abductions. She's sold her services more often to the side of the Alliance and it's better angels not because of any personal morality but because she can get away with things like torture and mass murder more easily if she does it for a cause some call righteous.

Eldest child of Lord Basile Truffault, Delaney was always meant to lead. She lived her life according to this destiny - she took up the lance, joined the venerated Knights Dragoon, served for over a decade as a lance-arm against the Dragon menace in defense of Ishgard. She fought in that long, losing war. She knew better than most that the war was lost before she was born and the only point to the fight was how long it would take for Ishgard to fall.And then, it didn't. The next generation did not win the war, they exposed that the righteous fervor Delaney saw others have in combat was born of lies and monstrous acts. Renown author of pulp romance novels, Maxe Sahashin, was born to the West Shroud clan Sahashin in a generation not very interested in carrying on the clan's ways. Even her cousin Madje, a devout priestess, renounced the clan's name to pursue a purer form of worship. This was in part due to policies of the Matriarch seen as needlessly cruel and focused more on pure identity than benevolent leadership. Between that and a powerful hate of Gridania, she saw no reason to stay in the Black Shroud. She set out to live in a windmill in the Grey Fleet of La Noscea.She's found odd jobs here and there, notably as a reporter for varied news sources from the Crystal Chronicle to the Crucible. Her philosophy is that reporting and writing novels are both, in essence, the same kind of storytelling - the only difference is in how much you make up. Between that philosophy and her windmill home, it likely isn't a surprise that Maxe is odd. She regularly talks about grand ideas with little connection to reality and expounds on the oddities of weather and climate. She calls this performative insanity 'living big', and it's her fundamental approach to life.Maxe was contented with this life for a long time, but the lack of momentum her family had as a result of her grandmother's intractable ways became eventually untennable for someone who was, to put it cheritably, interested in her family's future. With capable potential matriarchs like her cousin Madje or her sister Khyari uninterested in the future of the Sahashin family, someone needed to step up. Now the leader of her family, she faces the challenge of modernity coming to the West Shroud, and balancing that against her own 'big' way of walking through the world.

The youngest child of Delaney Truffault, Elodie is something of a problem child. Rebellious, and worse a poor investor. Elodie went into business with the Gold Saucer opening a hostel in the Goblet designed to serve Saucer guests. Her "Mandervilla" did not really take off, though.What's kept it open hasn't been traffic from the Gold Saucer but angel investments from Chocolina's Emporium and Atelier Iris, both of whom operate out of the Villa. And as Chocolina and Iris gained more financial stake in her company, the Sunset Destinations travel agency became less and less important.In a way, it was the way a noblewoman succeeded - she made other people do the work and collected the money. But Elodie was deeply disaffected as a result and has been struggling to establish an identity of her own, out from under the powerful women overseeing her life.

Agni was raised in the Chocobo Forest of Dravania by a Sharlayan father and Ala Mhigan refugee mother, hiding in the wild frontier from Garlean oppression. Her sister, Jasmine "Jazz" Isolde, followed in their father's footsteps and moved to Sharlayan when she grew to young adulthood. Agni, on the other hand, was radicalized by her grandfather and joined the Resistance.Agni learned the lessons of a terrorist. How cells operate. How targets are chosen. How to live and how to die. Greiver Cell eventually was denounced by the main host of the resistance for it's radical approach, which Agni questioned. Dismissing her as 'the young philosopher', her grandfather embarked on an even more ambitions plan of terror.The plan, summoning the Primal Greiver in the heart of occupied Ala Mhigo, was discovered by Garlemald and her cell was slaughtered while preparing the ritual. Agni escaped with a large piece of Auracite used to focus the belief in Greiver, but later actions from other terror cells made achieving her goals impossible within the resistance. So Agni became an oddity - a retired terrorist.

About 42 years ago, Euphoria woke up.She couldn't hear the Flood anymore, and the Flood couldn't hear her. Seeing a Eulmoran airship break apart and fall from the sky somehow broke that connection. Eulmore's Warden was fantastically lazy and as long as she didn't draw attention to herself, she could pose as a member of his retinue.But when the Warden was threatened, he attempted to marshal his forces only to discovered the Silent Lust was among his number. So, again, Euphoria ran.In her desperation, she attempted a skill she learned from Eulmoran texts called Flow. And she Flew to the farthest, strongest source of Light she could instinctively find - two other rebel Eaters known as Curiosity and Pomposity. Initially afraid they would turn her over to the Wardens, she soon discovered she was in another world entirely. A world beyond the Wardens' reach. A place she could finally be safe.
